Celebrating Ireland’s cultural and linguistic diversity, the Mother Tongues Festival fosters dialogue, inclusion and joy through the arts. Established in 2018, and now in its eighth year, it is consistently funded by the Arts Council and South Dublin County Council. Rooted in Tallaght and presented in partnership with Rua Red and The Civic, it has become a true festival of place, transforming the area into a centre for connection, creativity and dialogue.
The Festival showcases the work of migrant and multilingual artists, with the majority of its multidisciplinary programme presented in languages other than English. With inclusivity at its core, it offers children, families and wider audiences access to high-quality artistic experiences in theatre, music, literature, visual arts and participatory workshops.
