In this interactive music workshop, our crew is lost at sea and we need your help to navigate the long voyage back to Ireland! Along the way, our ship will dock in different countries to find its bearings. At every stop, we will get familiar with the local culture to figure out where we have landed.
This session moves quickly from one port to the next. You might find yourself learning a traditional rhythm from one land before playing a game or singing a song from another! It is a chance to experience the sounds of different cultures through pure play and movement. Parents and carers are encouraged to join the crew and take part in the songs and games as we work together to find our way home.
Meet the artist
Hala Jaber
Hala Jaber is a community musician and researcher. Her research interests revolve around understanding the music-making space as a tool to promote integration, bring people together and break down barriers in a multicultural space. Hala has extensive experience facilitating music workshops across various contexts.
