Step into a world of rhythm, movement, and creativity with this unique dance show that blends the mesmerizing Indian classical dance of Bharatanatyam with the beautiful art of Kolam—intricate patterns traditionally drawn outside homes in South India. Created especially for children aged 6+, this show is full of energy, and movement, accompanied by live music by Dr. Anika Babel. And the best part? Kids and parents alike can join in a fun, interactive activity at the end!

Meet the artist
Subhashini Goda
Subhashini is a dance artist and academic from Chennai, India, now living in Ireland. Specialising in Bharatanatyam, she has presented her work at prominent festivals including the Dancer from the Dance: Festival of Irish Choreography, Clonmel Junction Arts Festival, Cashel Arts Festival, Scene and Heard, Chester Beatty Library, and the Imagine Arts Festival. As the Emma O’Kane Bursary recipient and one of the Dublin Weft Studio Artists for 2024, she is focused on evolving her choreographic voice to reflect her changing relationship with Indian dance traditions through cross-cultural collaborations. She is currently completing an interdisciplinary dance studies PhD at UCD.
