In this interactive workshop, Dr La Morgia will support participants in creating an individualised language plan for their family.
During the workshop, participants will learn about some of the linguistic strategies used by bilingual and plurilingual families, discuss some of the common challenges, and reflect on ways of supporting their children’s linguistic development.
Meet the speaker
Dr Francesca La Morgia
Dr Francesca La Morgia is the founder and director of Mother Tongues. As well as running the organisation, she has been involved in research on bilingualism since 2006. Francesca has held positions at the University of Reading, Trinity College Dublin, Ulster University, Maynooth University and more recently at the University of Bologna. Her research focuses on bilingual language acquisition in educational contexts and within the process of family language transmission.
