Cuirtear an seisiún i láthair go dátheangach agus tá cluichí agus idirghníomhaíocht i gceist ar mhaith le cur leis an siamsa. Tá eolas maith ag lucht na Gaeilge ar na leabhair/dlúthdhioscaí a bhfuil an seó bunaithe orthu, ina measc Bliain na nAmhrán, ar bronnadh Gradam Speisialta na Moltóirí air ag Gradaim Leabhar na Bliana de chuid Leabhair Pháistí Éireann, 2017; Cuireadh san áireamh an bhliain chéanna é chomh maith i measc scothfhoilseacháin na cruinne, sna Gradaim White Ravens, a bhronnann Leabharlann Idirnásiúnta na nÓg, Munich na Gearmáine. Bhuaigh Bliain na nAmhrán Gradam Leabhar na Bliana 2018 do leanaí, Gradam Réics Carló.
Musician and writer Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin presented a fun family show of songs and rhyme in Irish, both traditional and contemporary, featuring interactive fun/game elements that transcend language. Presented in an inclusive, bilingual style, the show is based on a range of award-winning CD/books published by Futa Fata, much-loved in the Irish-language community nationwide and used extensively in Irish schools: the most recent publication, Bliain na nAmhrán, (The Year of Song), a collection of contemporary songs about the seasons, was awarded the Judges’ Special Merit Award at the Children’s Books Ireland Book of the Year Awards 2017, and was a White Ravens Award from the International Youth Library, Munich, Germany. Bliain na nAmhrán won also the 2018 children’s Irish-language Book of the Year Award, Gradam Réics Carló.
Futa Fata is a publisher of children’s books and CDs, based in the Conamara Gaeltacht, working predominately in the Irish language. The core mission of the company is to develop the cultural life of children who speak Irish and to work with Irish writers, illustrators and musicians to advance that aim. Futa Fata is very active in translation, publishing popular Irish-language editions of world-famous book series, including Diary of a Wimpy Kid by superstar author/cartoonist Irish-American Jeff Kinney, as well as a range of novels in translation by UK best-selling author David Walliams. The company’s original Irish-language picture books have also been translated widely abroad, appearing in many editions worldwide, including Chinese, Korean, Thai, Afrikaans, Turkish, Breton, French, Faroese, Danish, Scots Gaelic, Spanish and US English.
