Melting Pot Luck at Mother Tongues Festival

Melting Pot Luck
Melting Pot Luck is a volunteer-run community group which aims to create a welcoming space for refugees and asylum seekers in our community. Our group is made up of locals, immigrants, asylum seekers and refugees living in Galway and we host inclusive 'potluck' style dinners, bringing people together to share food, culture, music and stories. As part of the Mother Tongues Festival, we are hosting a multicultural dinner at Áras na Gael on Saturday the 23rd of February from 7 to 10 pm.

We work with people living in Direct Provision accommodation centres, providing the facilities for them to cook food they miss from their home countries to share with each other and our guests. At previous events, we have enjoyed food from Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Syria, Albania, Malawi and many more. Our dinners are celebratory and fun, with live music and usually dancing too!

We would like to thank Mother Tongues for inviting us to host this event and we ask that guests give a small donation in return for the food. We hope to see you on the 23rd!
