Dánta Dána is a performance of new and well-loved poetry and song in Irish for children aged 5-10 years. This 35-minute show is performed with high energy and visual fun by Sinead Murphy and Darina Gallagher, presented by Dublin City Public Libraries as part of Bliain na Gaeilge 2018.
Is léiriú beo Dánta Dána de na véarsaí agus na hamhráin, nua agus sean, is ansa linn, i nGaeilge, do dhaoine óga idir a cúig agus a deich mbliain d'aois. Mairfidh an seó 35 nóiméad agus cuirfear i láthair é ag Sinead Murphy agus Darina Gallagher i Leabharlannaí Poiblí Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath mar chuid de Bhliain na Gaeilge 2018.
Darina Gallagher and Sinead Murphy are best known for their energetic and humorous theatrical journeys through music from the life and works of James Joyce, which has toured all over the world (New York, Boston, Moscow, Glasgow, Trieste, Vienna and many more) to critical acclaim. Their previous work for children also includes ‘Ridiculous!’ – an exuberantly physical and musical performance of various absurd poems by much loved authors such as Roald Dahl, Shel Silverstein, Lewis Carroll, Dr. Seuss, Spike Milligan and more – which was produced by the Ark Children’s Cultural Centre and toured Dublin City Public Libraries, Limerick Art Gallery, Roscommon Arts centre, the Hawks Well in Sligo, Glor in Ennis, as well as Cruinniu na Casca, Culture Night performances at the Ark, and regular appearances on RTE’s Arena.
