Are you an artist interested or already engaged in developing transcultural work?
We would like to invite you to join us in a conversation with artists Sara Pour and Pietro Floridia from Cantieri Meticci in Bologna, Italy.
Founded in April 2014 by the director and playwright Pietro Floridia, Cantieri Meticci is a collective of artists. Their members include refugees, migrants, young artists, citizen activists, university students, researchers, teachers, musicians, and more. They are all united by a shared passion for theatre and a strong political commitment to artistic activism.
The morning of conversations with Pietro Floridia and Sara Pour will focus on creating art in transcultural environments and on the opportunities and challenges artists who have relocated encounter.
Sara Pour’s fine arts practice has changed since leaving Iran. Her previous work included illustrating children’s books with the reputable Iranian publishing house Shabaviz.
Upon relocating to Italy, Sara broadened her artistic horizons, engaging in participatory art projects along European borders.
Her diverse portfolio includes collaborations with Italian and international cultural institutions. Sara will talk specifically about being an artist whose creative work has diversified since leaving her homeland.
Pietro Floridia and Sara Pour will also share their story and experiences in social crossbreeding theatre and invite those attending to ask questions about their methodologies and processes.
