21-26 February 2022
Mother Tongues Festival is back!
Vi aspettiamo a braccia aperte!
Live @Rua Red & Civic Theatre, Tallaght + Draíocht, Blanchardstown
The wait has felt very long, but we are now ready to come together again and we are glad to announce that the Mother Tongues Festival is back live this February!

If you have never been to the Mother Tongues Festival before, now is the time! Mark the 21st to 26th of February in your diary and bring your friends and family.
As in previous years, we have planned a programme for all ages and this year we have a new format that will allow you to drop in and out most events with one single ticket.
Festival of Sanctuary
Our BIG news is that this year we have become a member of City of Sanctuary Dublin and Ireland’s first Festival of Sanctuary. We are extremely proud to be joining the Sanctuary movement and to share experiences of refugee and asylum-seeking communities through artistic and creative encounters.
To celebrate this occasion we are inviting our partner organisation IntegrART to join us from Treviso with a very special project, that you can take part in!
This year’s festival format is all about the experience. Thanks to expert curators we have created spaces where you will be able to immerse yourself in languages and cultures.
You will be able to reconnect with your inner child in the Room of Joy, to experience a true Nigerian welcome, Naghali performance from ancient Persia, to take a trip around the world for cinema lovers, to engage with our unique Interactive Museum of Languages for Young Audiences and much more!
Please join us, attend an event, come to say hello at the Mother Tongues stand, or browse some of the beautiful handmade bags made by Saoirse Ethnic Hands on Deck! You will find a surprise message on these bags, come and see for yourself!
