Mother Tongues' Interactive Museum of Languages for Young Audiences (IMLYA) at North Clondalkin Library. .Picture Conor McCabe Photography.

IMLYA is a creative resource that supports children’s self-expression and creativity, drawing on living and ancient languages to reflect on the diversity of languages in our environment.

Each component is designed to be interactive and is accompanied by a range of activities for children between the ages of 5 and 12 that spark children’s interest in other languages and cultures and in getting to talk about their own languages.

Participants will be supported and lead through the different elements of IMLYA by Artist Alexandra Gogan, who will help you and your child get the most out of the exhibition.

You can also book through Box Office: 01-885 2622

About Mother Tongues

Mother Tongues is a social enterprise aimed at raising awareness of the benefits of bilingualism in Ireland. Our vision is a society where families, communities and professionals work together to empower each child to reach their potential and embrace their language and heritage.
We support primary school teachers in applying simple techniques to make sure that all languages and cultures are valued in the classroom. We also offer information and support to families to make sure that all parents feel confident in raising bilingual children.
